Trent Garner, JD

Chief Operating Officer & Co-Founder
Trent Garner is a decorated combat veteran, attorney, and lifelong public servant dedicated to standing up for those who’ve worn the uniform. He co-founded Patriot Disability Advocates because of his lifelong passion for helping veterans and their families.

Born and raised in South Arkansas by a kindergarten teacher and a full-time National Guard soldier, Trent learned early the values of service, discipline, and helping the veteran community. At just 17, he joined the Arkansas National Guard while still in high school.

After the terrorist attacks of September 11th, he enlisted in the active-duty Army and earned the distinction of becoming a U.S. Army Special Forces Green Beret. He served two combat tours in Afghanistan, receiving the Combat Infantryman Badge, a Bronze Star Medal for Valor, and an Army Commendation Medal for Valor. He still serves today in the Arkansas National Guard as a Judge Advocate General (JAG) officer.

Outside of his military career, Trent built his career around service to the veteran community. Trent pursued higher education with determination—earning three degrees in six years, including a Master of Arts in Political Science and a Juris Doctor from the University of Arkansas School of Law. He worked for U.S. Senator Tom Cotton, directly working with veterans in navigating the VA process at the federal level.

In 2016, he was elected as the youngest State Senator in Arkansas. In his 6 years in the Senate, Trent drafted and passed dozens of bills to help veterans, including reducing their tax burden and streamlining getting benefits.

As an attorney, Trent worked as a civilian attorney for the Arkansas Department of the Military, advising military commanders and leadership on critical legal matters. He led as a managing attorney for a law firm focused on veterans’ benefits and estate planning.

Trent lives in El Dorado, Arkansas, with his wife, Kelly Garner, and their two children, Lincoln and Delta.

Today, Trent brings his unique blend of combat experience, legal training, and public service to help veterans navigate the complex VA disability system. His mission is simple: every claim is important, help with every step in the process, and always put veterans first.
